Freeze Forward: Donor-Led Fertility Access
At Onward, we believe your timeline shouldn’t depend on who you work for or where. But today, most fertility benefits are still tied to traditional employment, leaving millions of women without support simply because they work for themselves.
We launched Freeze Forward to help change that.
What It Is
Freeze Forward is Onward’s first pilot initiative: a fully donor-funded egg freezing cycle for one independent woman who doesn’t have access to fertility coverage through an employer.
It’s designed for the growing number of women building careers outside of full-time employment: freelancers, solopreneurs, gig workers, creatives, founders, and beyond who still deserve access to fertility care, no matter how their work is classified.
Why It Matters
Fertility preservation is time-sensitive and expensive. While many companies now offer egg freezing as a benefit, independent workers are often left to figure it out alone, facing costs of $10,000–$15,000 or more per cycle.
This kind of access shouldn’t be reserved for people at the “right” company. Your ability to preserve your fertility should be based on your needs, not your job title.
Freeze Forward was created to:
Bridge the gap for those without employer-based fertility benefits
Provide care without tradeoffs, stigma, or bureaucracy
Start a conversation about reproductive access in the modern workforce
How It Works
One egg freezing cycle will be funded in full, pending donor support
Funding is entirely donor-driven, allowing us to offer access outside of traditional employment systems
Our goal is to prove what’s possible and expand the model from there
This is just the beginning. Our long-term aim is to build a scalable model that blends philanthropy, partnership, and advocacy to reimagine what access to care looks like for independent workers.
